I’ve been taking senior portraits for years and have traveled all over Virginia. After many miles and endless hours in the car, I finally decided to turn the area around my studio into a dedicated place for amazing outdoor senior portraits!
You don’t have to go far to get amazing senior portraits. Sometimes the perfect location is literally in your own back yard! Well, my own backyard but you get the point. 🙂
Some seniors want their session at a place that means a lot to them. A family farm, the high school field where they’ve played sports for years, or even a botanical garden. Other seniors want beautiful photos that show their personality but they don’t have a location in mind.
This is why my husband and I have been transforming our yard to an outdoor photo studio!
I have several different locations I use, an ivy covered brick wall, the landscaped front yard with flowers, a cool black iron fence in the backyard and the even the woods surrounding my house. I also utilize the front of my neighborhood and a kind neighbor’s fence. It’s absolutely perfect!
The great thing about these sessions is, no two are exactly alike. It all depends on the time of year, time of day, the weather and what’s blooming!
There’s even a few places for a well behaved furry family member! 🙂
