I am so excited to have Madeline as my senior rep for Charlottesville High School’s Class of 2015! We started her mini portrait session at my new favorite location downtown. Every time I go there they’ve added something new and the graffiti is incredible! Speaking of incredible, how fantastic is the blue jumper that she brought with her? Seriously, you should always wear that color Madeline!

Then we moved on to a parking garage for the rest of her session. I’ve shot here many time before but I have never been fortunate enough to capture such an amazing sunset!  The colors in the sky coupled with the blue in Madeline’s jumper were perfection! Madeline, you were an absolute delight to photograph! I’ve never seen anyone that could actually smize (smile with your eyes) before (except of course for Tyra Banks) but you totally nailed it! 🙂

I absolutely love color in my photographs and hardly ever show black & white photos. There was something about this session though, maybe Madeline’s classic beauty or the surroundings, but I had to make a few of them b&w and I love the results!

Before I start taking senior portraits for the Class of 2015 next week, I wanted to take a minute to share photos from the Class of 2014. I have had so much fun with these fantastic seniors! I’ve had sessions in downtown Charlottesville, the athletic field at the University of Mary Washington and everywhere in between.

I’ve loved every minute I’ve spent with these kids and I am honored that they let me help document this part of their lives. After all you’re only a senior once…well, a high school senior anyway! 🙂 I can’t wait to see what the Class of 2015 has in store for me!

Antonia is my senior rep from Fluvanna County High School and I have really enjoyed photographing her this past year! Since I changed to a new website, I thought I’d combine all of her sessions into one post. There were so many gorgeous photos to choose from I had a really had time narrowing down what to post! She is the first cheerleader that I’ve photographed doing stunts and it was amazing! If any seniors from Charlottesville want to do the same thing for their senior portrait session, let me know!

For the last session, we spent the part of our time in downtown Palmyra. Because of the crazy winter we’ve had, there weren’t too many trees blooming but we were able to find a few spots with beautiful color. It was a gorgeous day full of wonderful golden sunshine. Since Antonia will be attending JMU in the fall, she brought along a few flowers to show her school spirit!

We then moved on to Pleasant Grove for the cheerleading part of the session. Antonia and the FCHS cheerleader have some serious skills…I can’t believe how high they were able to throw her up into the air! I had a fantastic time during the session and wish you the best of luck with your future Antonia!

The days are getting longer, school is almost over and senior portrait season is winding down! One of my last seniors from the Class of 2014 is Jules, my senior rep for Monticello High School. This is my third time photographing her and as always, I had a fantastic time with her and her mother Beth!

Since I’ve changed to a new website format, I thought I’d include photos from her previous portrait sessions with me. Her first mini session was at one of my favorite urban locations in Charlottesville. It was crazy hot but Jules looked absolutely gorgeous! I was happy to find so many blue backgrounds to go with Jules’ amazing eyes…they are so beautiful!

For her full session in the fall we changed things up a little bit. Not only was it much colder, but Jules chose a natural session at Oakland Heights Farm where she rides. It may of been the middle of November but you’d never know it. Blue skies, warm weather…we really lucked out! It was the perfect day to photograph Jules and Musette. It’s obvious that she loves him and he returns the sentiment! You can tell by the photos that they have a strong bond.

For her final mini session we stuck with the natural theme and met up at Pleasant Grove, a park in Fluvanna County. It was a gorgeous spring day. All of the leaves are finally out and everything is so green! I’m not sure why but there was a huge pile of tires in the middle of one of the fields. Of course we used it as a prop, Jules climbed up there and totally rocked it!

Thanks so much for another wonderful afternoon Jules & Beth. I have truly enjoyed getting to know you both this year. Jules, you are such a sweetheart and I know you will accomplish great things with your life. Good luck at Sweet Briar College in the fall and enjoy your summer!
