Senior Portraits Central Virginia
Over the summer, I take the majority of the senior yearbook photos. Especially for the schools that require the formal tux/drape shot. Quite often, this is my first time meeting my senior clients so it’s a great way to get to know them and find out what makes them tick!
I encourage seniors to incorporate their hobbies into their sessions. Whether it’s a current interest or an old one, it really helps to tell the story of your life up until now!
David is an offensive lineman for the LCHS football team, so there was no doubt that we were taking some sports photos in the studio!
I love these types of sessions! I start off taking dramatic black and white photos. Then by adding in gels and a smoke machine, I get a totally different look!
Next we headed to a Pleasant Grove, a location near my studio that I use a lot. Most guys aren’t super excited to have their photos taken but David was great in front of the camera. I had no problem getting real smiles out of him!
I’ve photographed seniors with their cars many times in the past but this was my first time photographing one that looked like Bumblebee from the Transformers movie! I’ve been driving the same mini-van for the past 12 years so I have serious car envy! 🙂
We ended David’s session with some sunset shots. This road in Pleasant Grove is one of my favorite places to showcase cars. It leads to the soccer and baseball fields so unless there’s a game, it’s almost always deserted!
I love the lines on the road. As seniors, you have your whole lives ahead of you and the possibilities are endless!
As you’ve seen, David has a beautiful smile but when your posed next to a super cool muscle car like this? I think a serious face is a necessity!
