Last week I had the pleasure of working with Emily, a senior from Patrick Henry High School located in Ashland, Virginia. I’m so glad that she contacted me for her senior portraits, one of the best things about being a photographer is all the new people I get to meet! First we took her formal yearbook photo in my studio and then we moved outside for her lifestyle photos. That’s the great thing about lifestyle sessions, while the formal yearbook photos look nice, they lifestyle sessions really let your personality shine through and Emily’s is absolutely adorable!
We headed down to the river for the first part of her outdoor session. We hadn’t had a lot of rain in July but that worked in our favor. Because the river was so low it ended up looking totally different than I’m used to…I’ve never seen all those giant rocks exposed before! I could have photographed Emily by the river all day but we eventually moved on to the downtown Palmyra area to add a little variety to her senior portraits.
I want to give a special thanks to Emily’s mother who actually stood in the water and held my reflector for a few of the photos! Thanks for a wonderful time Emily…enjoy the rest of your senior year!
