Vanity Fair | AJP Creative Sessions

Since the Oscars were last Sunday, it’s only fitting that I’m sharing my second creative session with my 2019 AJP Senior models!

A few weeks ago I had a Vanity Fair Oscar Party themed session with four of my 2019 Senior Models. The inspiration for this came from one of my favorite photographers, Mark Siegler. If you haven’t heard of him you really should check out his work!

Every year he teams up with Vanity Fair to take photos of the celebrities that attend the Oscars. He creates an elaborate photo set and photographs them at an after party. I’ve always loved these portraits so I finally decided to try it out for myself!

In my basement, I set up two backdrops from Denny Manufacturing. I used chairs and posing boxes from my studio (and a table & lamp from my house) to complete the look. I knew I wanted it to be dark and glamorous with a high end feel.

It turned out better than I could have hoped! Every one looked so elegant and stylish and while I’m no Mark Seigler, I was pretty please with the results!

First up I’ll share a few photos of Alexus, one of my 2019 senior models form Fluvanna County High School’s class of 2019. Man oh man, talk about beautiful! She looks ready to walk the red carpet!

Next up is Bryson, my 2019 senior model from Monticello High School. I loved his patterned shirt! It really added to the modern feel I was hoping for.

Matthew is another one of my 2019 senior models from Fluvanna County High School. He can rock a smirky smile like no other!

Last but not least is Hayden, one of my senior models from Louisa County High School. I loved the fact that he didn’t wear a tie! Since he and Matt both wore blue suits, it helped him have a different look!

This session was an absolute blast! Not only was it fun photographing everyone but I loved creating the set for the photoshoot! I’m already thinking about what kind of setup I can create in the future

Get ready Class of 2020 – the moment you’ve been waiting for is almost here!! You’re about to enter the twelfth grade and that means SENIOR PORTRAITS!!
